Hey hey,
In the mean-time I am already +/- 4 months in Norway, and I have had such a good time!
During summer break I had the opportunity to work at a company here in Norway. This included painting some walls and putting down some vinyl flooring. Besides that my friend Elise from the Netherlands visited me the last week of summer break. We did some hikes, berry picking and just had a lot of fun 😊 I am so grateful that she was able to come 😊 Also in the last week all the staff was coming back from there holiday and the season started!
Up till now a lot of things already have happened. I have had my DTS graduation as well as my DBS graduation, done staff training, done a staff Island hopping trip and together with Ben I visited my parents and Daniëlle (my sister) in Denmark.
For the people who did not know yet, Ben is my boyfriend haha. He is 29 years old and part of the leadership team here at the base in Norway. Besides that he is super sweet, very good at games and always makes me smile 😊
Than two weeks ago, we as Impact team, we had our first team week. During a team week we visit different places in Norway to visit youth groups, churches and high schools to share testimonies, do some worship, play games but especially to share the love of God and show the youth that they are not alone in their faith. This week we were welcomed in Farsund. This is an hour away from the most southern place of Norway. Here we participated in different youth activities and shared our testimonies, but also visited different places around Farsund (which included the most southern place Lindesnes).
Last week we did different practical stuff around the base. We painted the terrace, layed tiles and picked up fire wood. In short a nice busy and practical week 😊
Meanwhile the preparation for the DTS also continues and we are already so grateful for the 2 students that applied for the Impact track (the track that I staff). Also there are already 2 youth that applied for next years DTS, but they are still in process. We pray that everything will go well and that more students will apply. But, we are already super thankful for these students.
The remaining weeks of autumn we will travel around Norway a few more times, where our next stop is Fyresdal. This is a youth camp where we went last year as a DTS. We as a team are super excited and are looking forward to what God is going to do during this youth camp! 😊
Thank you for all your prayer and support <3
Blessings and love,
Leonieke
Prayer points:
- That what we shared in Farsund may bare fruit in the hearts of the youth and that they get a even closer relationship with God
- That God prepares the hearts of the youth that is coming to the youth camp
- Thankful for everything that we have been able to do
- That God will provide in finances
- That England may become yellow in October so that Ben and I can visit his family and also that Ben can see his family for the first time in a year.
